First Fight!

For our first fight we were matched with Subzero! This was a great group of guys that were pitted next to us. At the heart of the team is another father and son duo, like us. We were hoping for a possible win, since they had some drive issues it looked like they were dealing with. However Subzero had fixed all of those and came out with a vengance! They did a great job of throwing my bot high in the air over and over... and did you catch that they threw me into their fire drone? A great team to go against for the first fight ever!

Second Fight

It was a great experience to go up against a legend of the sport of Combat Robotics! It was a short turnaround to fight a hammer bot. I wish I would have put on more top armor. The fire at the end set us back and we had to completely rebuild to get to the next fight.

Last Fight

This fight aired on Battlebot Bounty Hunters (Son of Whyachi). After my rebuild I wish I would have taken more time to get the drives going. I realized after the fight began that my right-left was reversed. Gygabyte was no joke though! Thanks for the fight!

COMPETED IN SEASON 5 OF BATTLEBOTS!

In October 2020, team DaStroy brought GRABOT to the worlds largest combat robotics contest BATTLEBOTS!
This is the first robot completion that anyone on the team had even been to.

What is next for GRABOT?

I have been honored to show up to Battlebots with a never before seen robot design. Many teams have gone through years of rejection before getting a chance to compete on the show. I still spend time testing new parts to improve the overall design, and I hope in a year or two to bring a robot that has a shot at taking out some of these great teams. GRABOT 2.0
